Sierra Leone Project Director - Emmanuel Bobor
Emmanuel is the pastor of Rapha church in Kenema and director of its associated school
We're delighted that Pastor Emmanuel Bobor joined us this year having also dedicated training and enterprise rooms on his community site. Emmanuel and his family have proved to be a great help overseeing and coordinating both EA team members and trainees where we're seeing progress and lives transformed.
Emmanuel shares:
'The terrible damage that the drug 'Kush' is having on the lives of unemployed young people is devasting in Sierra Leone, especially in the cities where unemployment is widespread. The drug is mixed with crushed human bones that the dealers and young people take from local graves, thinking that it increases the zombie-like states it produces. We aim to provide an alternative life for these vulnerable young people who get drawn into the drug culture and damaging states of mind that this drug causes. This is damaging for both individuals and families in our communities'.
'The training and resources we provide as an Enterprise Academy here in Kenema and at other emerging sites in Sierra Leone provides a way out, a way forward and hope for the future for our young people and others that wish to train and start small income generating enterprises. These initially small community start-ups providing new skills and gainful employment are helping to transform communities for good'.
'When the vision and model of Enterprise Academies was shared with me I new it would bring positive change for our people'.
'I now oversee the work and continued vision for Sierra Leone and look forward to seeing more EA training centres in needy communities in other parts of my country helping to bring skills and employment'.
